Devils beat Ovechkin

Devils show some fire in knocking off Capitals
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
WASHINGTON — The New Jersey Devils shut down Alex Ovechkin, continued to click on the power play, and pulled themselves out of a funk.

Patrik Elias' tip-in snapped a second-period tie and the Devils beat the Washington Capitals 4-1 on Friday night.Travis Zajac and Zach Parise had power-play goals for the Devils, who have scored with a man advantage in a season-high five straight games.

Ovechkin was limited to five shots and had his point-scoring streak snapped at a season-high eight games. But it took a spectacular save by Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur with 3:18 left in the game to keep Ovechkin pointless.

Brodeur blocked Clark's shot from between the circles and Ovechkin darted in from the left wing to pounce on the rebound. But Brodeur, who made 35 saves, slid to his right, gobbling up Ovechkin's attempt in front of the crease.

When all hope is lost....

There is a certain comfort in being totally screwed, cause you know things pretty much can't get any worse. I will sit in comfort knowing that the Flyers have totally blown this season like a drunken prom date. I can only hope that when it comes to the zero hour and it is neck and neck between the top 2 teams, somehow my Flyers will come out of the woodwork and totally fuck over whoever is in first, I call it the 'silent assassin' approach, play on all those who still have a chance, play on.

You're doing a heckuva job Wiley

Last night was another big night at the Phlyers expense for the Nation's Capitals. After spotting Philly a goal, the Caps turned it on and put four in the net. Two for Alexander Semin, one for Alex Ovechkin and one for Danius Zubrus. Ovechkin also KO'ed Eric Lindros Peter Forsberg in the 1st period.

Congratulations Wiley, your Cryers have already clinched a losing La Coupe Hauxer season!

Looky looky

Who's in first place? That's right, not the Caps. Not the Pens. Not the (hee hee...) Flyers.

Got'em right where I want em

Okay, so it has been a slow start, 0-9. But I feel if I run the table for the rest of the year I might bring my teams status up to 'sucky', as opposed to their current status of 'a fucking disgrace'. I still contend that this is a rebuilding year, so in about 2010 we might have a shot at the cup. Bring on the Screwdriver!

Caps were robbed!!!

Okay, there is no way that the Penguin's last goal was an authentic goal! I saw the goalie block the puck (more so, land on the puck) with my own eyes, so how is it that the Penguins were awarded the point? That's robbery right there, y'all.

Wow, the Flyers are that bad

Check out this commentary on Caps Nut's trip to Philly on Saturday:
However, after making the trip to the Wachovia Center, I NEVER want to hear how lame and quiet us Caps fans are. Yes, most of it has to do to with the Flyers only having 8 wins on the season, but when I am sitting in the second to last row of the arena and I can hear the defenseman making a back door cut calling for the puck, the arena is quiet. And mind you, this is on a Saturday night, in the much ballyhooed Wachovia Center, with a matchup of two former Patrick Division rivals. The place was stone cold quiet and the worst it ever got for me and my fellow Caps Fan Club members was after the first Flyer's goal. There was some taunting and then some clown yelled "How about them Redskins" I mentioned 3 Super Bowl Titles and I never heard that again.
Ouch. It gets worse though:
but did the Wachovia Center HAVE to play Wham!'s "Last Christmas" last night before warmups? Instead of going after Nativity scenes, can't we get the P.C. police do something about this? Seriously folks, this is a hockey game, in Philadelphia no less, and we are subjected to Wham!??? There's no bleepin' excuse for that.
What's going on Wiley? Defend your team! Or go find another team for next season.

Caps sweep CoreStates First Union Wachovia Center schedule

The Caps have won both games in Filthadelphia for the first time in forever. Last night, they took out Wiley's Cryers with a 5-3 victory behind their backup goalie. Nice. Can anyone believe just how bad the Flyers are this season? 0-9 man, I don't even think last year's Caps started off that bad.

Tomorrow night, the Caps play their second consecutive LCH game. I'll be there, why aren't you?

Settle down now...

Come on folks, gloating about being in first place with a 1-0 record is like Tennessee gloating about being #3 in the 2005 preseason polls. Pointless.

Especially because we all know the Devils are going to win in the end, anyway.

And just in case you need reminding...
