La Coupe Hauxer

A battle for hockey bragging rights through head to head competition between each of our favorite teams - Devils (Brad), Flyers (Wiley), Penguins (Sam), and Capitals (Fritz/William). The winner(s) gets the historic La Coupe Hauxer and the universal currency of respect/adminiration. The loser(s) gets the Stanley Screwdriver, the universal currency of humiliation and has to buy everyone dinner at the Vienna Inn. Game on!

1 more to go

Okay campers, so one game left in the regular season, never thought I would say this, but, need the Devils to beat the Penguins. So Sam and I go into the playoffs tied for the screwdriver. Bout time he pays up at the Vienna Inn. I know we still have the playoffs, but I can dream can't I?

3 games left

Well boys, after a rather uneventful season with very little posting it is coming down to a crucial 3 games. Can the Flyers climb out of the basement? Can the Capitals hang on to the cup? Will someone please kick the Devils in the nuts? All these questions to be answered soon.

Back in first place!

The Capitals, minus Donald Brashear and Sergei Federov, took out Wiley's Flyers in Philadelphia again to split the regular season series. Alex Ovechkin was first star of the night.

The win, the Capitals 7th in La Coupe Hauxer, moves them back into first place several percentage points above the Devils.

That wraps it up for the Caps in regular season, but I have a feeling they will be seeing some of you in the playoffs, so nothing is decided yet.

"Don't mess with the Devils, buddy. We're No. 1, we beat anybody. We're the Devils! The Devils! Haaaa!"

Since Martin Brodeur returned, the Devils are 3-0 with 2 shutouts. You all had your chance with Brodeur out months, but you couldn't knock us out. Now the La Coupe Hauxer will be ours...again.
