La Coupe Hauxer

A battle for hockey bragging rights through head to head competition between each of our favorite teams - Devils (Brad), Flyers (Wiley), Penguins (Sam), and Capitals (Fritz/William). The winner(s) gets the historic La Coupe Hauxer and the universal currency of respect/adminiration. The loser(s) gets the Stanley Screwdriver, the universal currency of humiliation and has to buy everyone dinner at the Vienna Inn. Game on!

What's a matter Col. Sanders, chicken?

"If the Caps and Flyers want to put 3rd place on the line given that they are matched up in the playoffs, feel free...." - The Pengyunz Governor
Why limit it to third place? I don't see why you guys don't want playoffs to count, I always thought they did. With all four teams in it, why not? Wiley seemed open to the idea last week, why aren't you?

Because all match-ups are not created equal....The Pens could win the Cup, or lose to Ottawa. Plus, now we are involving other teams (Ottawa, Rangers, etc) in this competition, which defeats the purpose of "bragging rights" among our own 4 teams. The Pens lost 3 of 4 to Ottawa this year, so I'd be crazy to put the playoffs on the line here....

The Devils lost 7 of 8 to the Rangers this year. Do you think Brad would put his first place trophy on the line? I think not.

If we decided to change the rules for next season, it should be done BEFORE the season starts....

I'm not suggesting we include Ottawa or the Rags. I'm talking about playoff games between two La Coupe Hauxer teams counting. That's what I was talking about last summer and recently.

Of course you want to count the playoffs. Your team is on a hot streak and you have the Screwdriver.
