La Coupe Hauxer

A battle for hockey bragging rights through head to head competition between each of our favorite teams - Devils (Brad), Flyers (Wiley), Penguins (Sam), and Capitals (Fritz/William). The winner(s) gets the historic La Coupe Hauxer and the universal currency of respect/adminiration. The loser(s) gets the Stanley Screwdriver, the universal currency of humiliation and has to buy everyone dinner at the Vienna Inn. Game on!

Pens Gov: I was for it before I was against it

Well, it is very interesting that the Pengyunz Governor has forgotten that the playoffs count in the La Coupe Hauxer standings. It is even more interesting given that he stands to gain from the playoffs more than he stands to lose. An odd time for a flip-flop, no?

Yes, Sam, we agreed over chili dogs and beer that the playoffs would count in La Coupe Hauxer standings.

Then why does no one remember it? I don't, and Brad doesn't either.

We agreed to break ties via a shootout. I don't know if Wiley remembers, but it doesn't seem logical that we would have included the playoffs AND a shootout as a tiebreaker.

It doesn't make sense to have a team play 20 games and then punish a team by penalizing them with playoff losses.

I find it odd that no one recalls it. I have spoken with the Flyers ambassador and he could also not recall that decision, so it will apparently be decided with a regular season only.
