Who is worse, the worst team or the team that loses to the worst team?*
The Capitals sure have been struggling of late, so much so that they fired their head coach. Thankfully, the schedule came up the Caps way with a meeting in Philly with the improved, but still thuggish Flyers. Going back to last season, our Nation's Capitals OWN Philly.
The Caps came out inspired, scoring three goals in the first two periods. Even gentleman and scholar Donald Brashear tallied one. Of course, down 3-0, the dirty Flyers started gooning it up (I think Danil Briere start swinging a purse) and there was some questionable officiating to get the Flyers back in the game. In overtime, Washington made short work wit birthday boy Nick Backstrom scoring the game winner off of an Ovechkin pass.
So, what can you say Wiley? Your Flyers can't beat the worst team in hockey.
*It turns out the answer is actually Pittsburgh.
