La Coupe Hauxer

A battle for hockey bragging rights through head to head competition between each of our favorite teams - Devils (Brad), Flyers (Wiley), Penguins (Sam), and Capitals (Fritz/William). The winner(s) gets the historic La Coupe Hauxer and the universal currency of respect/adminiration. The loser(s) gets the Stanley Screwdriver, the universal currency of humiliation and has to buy everyone dinner at the Vienna Inn. Game on!

The Sidney Crosby Drinking Game

As if a battle between two teams with a combined 70 points in the standings in late January is not enough, I have come up with something to make tonight's Caps vs. Pengyunz game even more fun -- The Sidney Crosby Drinking Game!
  • Sidney Crosby takes a dive - one shot
  • Sidney Crosby whines to the officials - one shot
  • Sidney Crosby is the coverboy of a national magazine - one shot
  • Sidney Crosby appears in a national hockey commercial - one shot
  • Another one of Sidney Crosby's aging teammates retires - three shots
  • NHL rigs the draft lottery (again) to ensure Pittsburgh gets #1 pick - entire bottle

Of course, like the old Norman Chad picks column ("this should not be used for the basis of an actual cash wager"), these suggestions should not be used for the basis of actual alcohol consumption.

Contributions welcome! Leave them in the comments.

NHL rigs draft to benefit Crapitals to get Ovechkin - Two cases of Yuengling

Craps fans thinking their team is better than Pittsburgh in the long run - Kill yourself

Two Cups to a butt-whippin' at the hands of the Red Wings within sight of said Cup. That's all I need to say. You couldn't even win with Jagr when we GAVE him to you. What is with you people?

The Craps are no better off than we are as far as the rookie sweepstakes. At least we can sort of trust Crosby, because we know he speaks English, whereas Ovechkin is Russian. Remember, Russkies are not our friends.

Ovechkin might be having a marginally better season on a marginally better team, but why wouldn't the NHL push Crosby? I have nothing against Ovechkin, but only one of them speaks English well, one of them played in a city that was home to the best player in the history of the game, and one plays on a team that really needs the positive publicity to keep from losing our team. I say let the push of Crosby continue!

Last time I checked, neither plays in Edmonton.
